Intern interviews ISM

Image

Star News decided it would be good to send the intern into the heart of the Sith Empire. So he packed his bags and traveled to Byss where he conversed with Imperial Sith Military Captain Faragila Raiden over a com device.

Star News intern: “I was hoping that i would ask you some questions… what are your duties or role to the group, and also what type of training do you teach you initiates when they join?”

Commander Faragila Raiden:  “Our Military training is some of the finest in the Galaxy, we train almost daily from hand to hand to specialist weapons. Depends on the War, at present the Imperial Sith Military is not at war… My role as Captain ranges from training recruits and lower ranks too keeping troop discipline in check. Our recruits go through a tough training schedule combining both mental and physical capability we push them hard but this is both a rewarding and beneficial process for the individual and the military.”

Star News intern: “….what would you do if a recruit or lower rank starts miss behaving…”

Commander Faragila Raiden:  “Disciplinary action would take place, a formal warning, time in the cells, formal hearings and possibly dismissal from service, which would bring great shame and dishonor on the individual, which is arguably punishment enough, specially within Sith Society.

Star News intern: “would happen if you had a spy in your ranks? and also what if war would to come here to this planet?”

Commander Faragila Raiden:  “I detect a slight perception that we are savage beasts in a cage to be released upon the innocent,  this is not the case, we are men and women loyal to the Empire, to the Emperor, we see the reality within nature, the strongest survive and this is cause for reward and celebration. Having said that, should we find a spy in our midst, then perhaps some of that sith savagery that is renowned throughout the Galaxy may be expressed. As for war, we would do our duty, we would defend the citizens of the empire with our lives, and route out our enemies until they were defeated.”

Star News intern: “….what is your opinion about this war…?”

Commander Faragila Raiden:  “As stated, we are not currently at war, but stand ready to defend the empire and bring order to wherever the Emperor deems necessary. I will say this, if war comes to us, we will not back down, we fight with honor and courage and without compromise… We are soldiers of the Empire, and I say this, any who are reading this interview and feel they have what it takes to be a Soldier within the Empire, we are always looking for new recruits.

Byss talks war

Image

Star News traveled to the capitol city of Byss to talk to the Emperor’s Hand Darth Atrox about what is rapidly escalating into a full blown galactic war.

Star News: “…Will Byss join the war as well?”

Darth Atrox: “If we do, the galaxy will feel the depth of our impact. I will say, though, that the chance to slaughter Jedi and perhaps dine on their carcasses does have its own appeal… It would be a shame if the Death Watch reached out to others for help in their cause…a shame for the Federation that is. Wouldn’t you agree?  …What would you do if someone was in need and called out for help? What is the merciful thing to do?”

Star News: ” before I go is there any last words that you would like star news viewers to know?”

Darth Atrox: “Yes, tell them to expect us…and may that mean whatever it does to them.”

Moisture farming on Tatooine

Image

We sent Star News intern Nyx out into the field to bring back his first story for Star News and in this time of war and bickering he brought back a piece that is both fresh and informative.

Star News: “why did you start a moisture farm? and why in the middle of Mos Eisely?”

Gryff McCallen: “Other than fighting, farming has been my thing. I lived and maintained a moisture farm since my early twenties. The reason for it being so close is for convenience. the water that is farmed here can reach the houses much faster than the others.”

Star News: “Alright, also I noticed you supply the city with water, how often do you check on that? also, do you do any business like selling crops for the others of LME?”

Gryff McCallen: “We check on the water supply caches every three days, at least. More often than any other moisture farm in this sector. the crops that are farmed here is sold to the city, yes, but only a small portion. We have trade routs with other planets, due to the fact that our enclosed greenhouse can farm organic produce without fear of pests. Sometimes it pays off farming on a desolate planet.”

Star News: “How often do you get customer to come by the door if any? also you have two missile launchers on the pillars, are you afraid of some one might come to destroy your crops?”

Gryff McCallen: “We invoice the city directly for our water sales, and we head out to the market or off planet to sell our crops. the only customers we get are looking for bulk deals and contracting, not browsing stocks. Those missile launchers on the pillars are remnants of the building’s primary function. It used to be a base for Starwind, and those launchers were used to to protect the clan from outside attacks… They lay dormant to this day, but are maintained just in case they are needed again one day.”

Star News: “…what was Starwind and what happened to it?”

Gryff McCallen: “Starwind was a clan of Amarans and Shistavanens who needed a warm bed to lay in, and a cold drink in their hands. this building was named /Oasis/ because of the location, and what it offered these beings. in return they assisted each other against the troubling waters of the outside world. What happened, is that the problems were solved, and the clan was able to venture off into the galaxy to live their lives.

Star News: “Okay last question, if things were to turn ugly…in the city…..how would you handle the situation?”

Gryff McCallen: “There may be missile launchers on my walls, but I’m running a farm, not a militia. If worst comes to worst, then I do a battle of attrition. Based on what I grow and harvest here… I’ll be fine.”

Tensions grow at Hutt Night

Image

Once more tensions heat up between the Hutt Cartel and the Hutt Syndicate and spill out over into Hutt Night making the blistering Tatooine night even hotter. On the Hutt thrones representing the Hutt Cartel were the infamous Bareesh brothers.. Rolga and Tompunka, also in attendance was the Hutt of many words.. senior Cartel member Anda Anjiliac. Stubz as always was on hand and ready with his blaster. The event was hosted by Anda Anjiliac and her majordomo Emily. But even before the night could begin the Hutt Syndicate fired the first shot placing a bounty on the head of one of their own that was now seen standing on the stage acting as security for the Hutt Cartel.

Emily: “Hello everyone! We will begin shortly as soon as security has cleared the Building the Mighty Hutts will take audience, Tonight there will be no acting Majordomo, Lady Anda herself will be conducting the event!”

Anda Anjiliac: “It pleases the cartel to see the turn out this evening, we would like to extend our gratitude to our friends in the empire who have assisted us with our security this evening, as well as our friends with the 13th legion. …as of this time last week, a bounty was taken out against any, and all, personnel, property or holdings of the so called “hutt syndicate” with the bounty hunters guild… the rewards for the destruction of, or apprehension of these vile criminals are quite substantial and I would like to make the bounty open to all comers, not only members of the guild. Further it pleases the cartel that certain members of the Syndicate have spoken to us privately, recognized our generosity and nature and have seen fit to join our various kajidic, leaving the syndicate for better work. the most honored Hutt Cartel Council, despite a lack of assistance from certain parties who shall remain nameless, have stood strong in the face of this criminal menace, we encourage any civilized people to rally behind our example if they should see fit.  as a last matter, I would like it made known that the Cartel Council, concerned with the advent of war in the galaxy have made overtures to the federation regarding the conflict and requested an ambassador for the people of hutt space to the federation, these requests have been unanswered as of yet.and now we will open the floor to anyone who wishes to speak.”

Federation Rep Jesma Pearl: “I would like to speak to the cartels, if I may.” she says as she steps up to the speakers dais… “Thank you your greatness. I must make this brief, because I have a ceremony to attend, but I would like to offer my services in seeing that hutt concerns are heard and known throughout the Federation. I recognize that our working with the hutts in in the Federation’s best interest and will be glad to take your concerns to the Federation at our weekly meetings. However, I really must go at this time. I’ll be in contact.”

Anda Anjiliac: “The representative from the federation has not been excused. The Cartel desires a method of communication with the federation but we doubt the diplomatic wisdom of an espionage agent serving in that capacity, if the Lady Jesma wishes to send our message to the federation though, that would be acceptable.”

I think much to anyone’s surprise federation rep Jesma Pearl answered back in Huttese.. a language most humans find difficult to speak not having the correct Hutt biology to make the proper sounds.. like a fat encrusted throat to gargle the vowels or a mouth that stretches half way around their head to properly pronounce and emote the language.. but Jesma seemed to be doing pretty good as she denied being their to spy.

Federation Rep Jesma Pearl in Huttese: kee hajin diki? ji masa dwana ne wassa nai un wumpa un ji palko kee nei’cha ko ta chu mwa dobo pim pim. ji boga boga upee la. uska bayjee bo be gopah palko so be ko ree boga an tonka hajuki akklai nei’cha bu paguta. wassa sa drikunna upee mulira jimuga bu nami mukai. jimpa  ko drikhi un wan nami paa uran diki makriss mukai an anku ha makriss, dobo dolpee ne konchi. bala yama kee be hajin magok mulira upee kox sa gulpa ta uska un diki an chissa ne paguta be akklai makriss. hok chuba uni uran, ji kah uska an  mwa pim goora kox un la mukai? jimuga.”

Anda Anjiliac made a sour face as she heard teh reason that Jesma had to leave was a Knighting ceremony for her enclave and replied… “jiji yama mukai naga chuba wampo un kon mukai dobra nami chu wan nowan boga che andoba ari, pay, kuna boska.” in what almost seemed like sarcasm but it is hard to tell intonation through a translator. “…ha gee uska sa akklai palko   nowan nowan, jimpa kee.” she continued.

Federation Rep Jesma Pearl bowed  “I will return as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.”

Anda Anjiliac then addressed one of the security guurds: “master Alex would you please see our guest to the podium to make her business? We are long lived but we are not immortal and out patience with this particular business is wearing thin.”

The lady in question however did not need to be brought up as it was evident that she was the one being addressed she made her own way to the speakers dais and began…

Pink: greetings mighty and powerful hutts, my name is Pink and I own several locations of pinks place. However I owe a large debt to the Syndicate and am currently unable to payoff this debt of a mere 300,000 credits. I say mere as this is a small amount for a loan I’m requesting this night so I can clear this debt up if you would be so kind as to lend me these funds. I would be willing to pay a 20% fee over a six month period and the full principal.

The Hutts talked it over…
Anda Anjiliac: “she admits to being unable to pay a loan, and yet asks us to pay it for her, why should the cartel take this offer, we appear to have little to gain, and much to lose”
rolga Bareesh: “20%? compounded I assume?”

Pink: “well 20% on the 300,000 in six months time if I dont pay off the full amount with intrest then how about 50% on the 300k for another three months, thats more then crooked deal for you

Tompunka Bareesh: “to that gang of upstarts? We would lend money to give to that?”

Pink: “otherwise I wont be able to get out from the debt I owe the syndicate as you hate them all this would be a good way of removing some of there income.”

Anda Anjiliac: “I agree with lord Tompunka, there is no benefit in this for the cartel and an immediate benefit for this so called syndicate, as a senior member of the cartel i vote no, what say you Lord Rolga?”

Rolga Bareesh: “your math is amusing, it’s also not worth our time, perhaps stock in your business, if it’s found to be worthy.”
Anda Anjiliac: “I fail to see how giving them 300,000 credits would be removing their source of income.”
Rolga Bareesh: “all laughing aside, your business proposal is never going to pass the Cartel’s standards of business, however your business could be shored up in another way… I could propose something that might save your businesses…”

Anda Anjiliac: “if her property is under control of the syndicate, the bounty extends to her holdings and facilities, they will be destroyed, and a bounty paid to the one who does so, Lord Rolga may have an idea for the speaker, but if not, she is excused and will leave the premises.”

Pink: “No, my property is not controlled by the syndicate I just owe them for a loan is all reason IM here speaking to you great hutts.”

Anda Anjiliac: “then you have nothing to worry about Im sure your property will be spared the bounty, you may go.”

With that last bit of business Hutt Night was called to a close by Anda Anjiliac and the crowd slowly dispersed out into the desert night.

Anda Anjiliac explains

Image

[ Star News humbly apologizes for running a stock photo of the ever fashionable Anda Anjiliac ]

Star News was once more called by Anda Anjiliac who wanted to respond to the response that GAR made to her response of their actions. As redundant as it seems, Star News decided to hear her out so we traveled to the Bareesh Moon base.

Anda Anjiliac: “After reading the Grand Armies response to my public address I felt I should make a few things perfectly clear, and I appreciate your organizations attention to the level heads of the galaxy… To begin, the cartel is shocked and frankly, hurt, by the accusations of the federation that the cartel engages in… I believe he said drug smuggling, slaving and weapons trafficking. The very notion! While a few of the cartel deal in arms occasionally for legitimate military purposes, the accusations of slaving and drug trafficking are outrageous. We have no frustration with the Grand Army or the federation for their prohibitions on these vile trades…  further, we find these claims rather hollow when actual slavers, drug traffickers and vile criminals are attempting to make a return on tatooine, yet the Grand Army and the federation have not stepped in to help the citizens. If there purported purpose is to stop this type of behavior then why have they not stepped in to help? As they have said, and we have corroborated numerous times, Tatooine is NOT hutt space, and while the cartel has done what it can, these types of criminals are difficult to manage, yet we have received no help, no relief, no assistance on a world they claim to protect.” We categorically deny these accusations of slaving and drug trafficking. And on a personal note, The federal mediator misunderstood the intentions of myself and the mighty Tompunka, he was accused of crimes against my people and was to stand trial for them in hutt space. He interpreted this as slavery, when that was not the intent.”

Anda Anjiliac: “The federation claims we would have known months ago that we were no longer considered a hostile force? The last we heard from them they were sending espionage agents to gather clandestine intelligence on citizens under their own protection. Why? Why has the federation not offered an ambassador? Why have they not chosen to speak with the people of hutt space? We have made numerous overtures to attempt to work with them and all have been ignored. If the federation wishes to show their dedication to peace and tolerance, prove that they are not simply bigoted towards my people, why have no diplomatic attempts been made?  which is why we implore the federation once again to allow cool heads to prosper, please, send us an ambassador, let the needless killing end, let the war rhetoric be silenced! People died on anchorhead despite what the federal mediator claims and the computer files prove it, whether they knew it or not is irrelevant, it was the price of misguided conflict on an enemy they have since recognized as a potential ally! More proof that I am speaking the truth. Once again I state that the hutts do not claim to own, or control tatooine, it is under the protection of the Grand Army and the federation, we implore them to see beyond their current conflict and help where it is needed, to stop these vile criminals and to serve the citizens they protect. We did not choose the word “war” they did. We cannot help it if the word “war” is scary, it should be. But we did not proclaim war. If the Grand Army and the Federation are truly only seeking peace, the cartel, the people of hutt space, the people of hutt space, the people of the outer rim humbly ask only for a voice, only an ambassador, a means of communication. I hope that their claims of a peaceful galaxy are true and this wish will be granted.”

Anda Anjiliac: “yes, diplomacy, and assistance for the people of the galaxy. The hutts humbly request a federation ambassador, request the aid of the Grand Army in stopping the criminals it claims to be meant to protect from. “

Death Watch talks war

Image

As the war rages on across the galaxy threatening countless lives and ways of life, Star News has heard from GAR and the Hutts.. but not yet from Death Watch. So after weeks of following leads we finally met up with a member who told us he could take us to meet the man known as Black 5. We were then blindfolded and taken to a secret location.

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “I dont really have that much of a reason to be secretive anymore. Dha’kar’ta Vendet. Full name would be good.

Star News: “I just want to mostly get your side of the story.. so let’s start with the war… how did it begin..? Who fired the first shot and why?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “It was going on long before, when A’denla Kad the puppet had our culture wasting away. That’s a dead bantha though, and I wont beat it. I suppose you could say the first official shot was fired by Vendet Deathwatch Cell. We Attacked GAR headquarters, blew it up, and then fought our way out- although for the record we had a kill order on us LONG before they made a declaration of war. When I infiltrated the council, which is where it started for me, I overheard all groups of the federation discussing our ops on Anchorhead. Despite war not being declared, and no attack on them, mercenary and hired thug attacks increased on my fellow soldiers- something I can only assume was due to A’denla Kad’s tight knit relationship with the queen, and her influences in the Federation council… But, by definition, The first official shots were fired by Vendet.”

Star News: “So now we know who.. what about why? and please be specific as you can.”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “Because our people were being hunted, because of A’denla Kad’s failure to adhere to the culture, because I wont allow my future child to grow up on a planet where the people are essentially hired hands sent to do the dirty work for other cultures. I do it because our own flesh and blood is bred to be cannon fodder, and sent to kill their own. Despite what they say about why I made the comment about the GAR soldiers, it isnt them. It’s the process that disgusts me. People bred to die, no choice, aged to meet the fighting standards. Cattle. My only regret is that we have to wade through them to stop the process…but we’re prepared to make that sacrifice if needs be…”

Star News: “It has been mentioned that what Death Watch is doing is a ethnic cleansing.. comments?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “Ethnic cleansing? No. If they were given the choice then I would have no reason to target them. IF they weren’t hunting down me and mine, then there would be no point in me fighting them. The sad fact is, they are indoctrinated to fight us. Given the opportunity, I wont shut down the Labs. They have a choice to go wherever they want, be anything they want, start a family and live lives as men not sent to do the bidding of people that clearly don’t care about their well being or happiness. I do. It would be cleansing if I were trying to wipe out the gene, or the people, like they were already doing to us. I want them out of my way. What they do with themselves past that is not of my concern.”

Star News: “What can you tell us about the The Helix Confederacy..? how did they become involved and what is their stake?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “A large company of Samuel Draav’s inherited from his father. The remains of the Inquisition fleet are overhead. From what I can understand- it is seeking corporate freedom, but Draav has his own goals. Everybody working for The Helix Confederacy has it’s own goals and agenda. Samuel has expressed to me that he doesn’t want me talking about it.

Star News: “What about the Hutts and Anda Anjiliac in particular? Is there a connection between Death Watch and the Hutt Cartel?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “Maybe. It’d be in my best interest for people to believe we had that sort of backing… A lot of people do business with Hutts. Maybe we’ll get the chance to do some in the future.”

Star News: “what is the connection with the Empress Fel. and Death Watch?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “None. She was trying to get on the council. We haven’t spoken since then, or after what happened on Anchorhead. Seriously doubt she would want much to do with us, but if she’s listening in id always be willing to discuss things.”

Star News:  “How do you feel about GAR General Raven’s questioning your tactics of fear and intimidation?”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “Fear and Intimidation?… What target, exactly, has Vendet Targeted that is civilian? Civilians have nothing to fear from us. Our goal is to make this quick and get it over with so we can return to our daily lives. You would intervene if we were to reclaim our home. I’m not the one that holds up some bloodied helmet of a fallen foe, and screams ‘this is a warning.’.”, he pauses. “Two people fresh to the cause decide stupidly to take up arms and try to make a mark on the civilian populace by blowing up a wing of the palace. They paid for it in blood. Hell. Had a duel with Char Munit’kad the other day and we went about the business as proper gentlemen. Perhaps you were born into right army, and wrong generation. Old Palpatine and you would have gotten along. He liked sending messages too with a fallen foe. Afraid, however, that we’re not going to stoop to that level, desecrating corpses and stuff. Try sending the helmet and remains of body back to his family, general. Then we’ll talk… Onderon Supply Depot. Onderon GAR Base. Yavin academy for training the force users that you would send against us. We do what we can to even the odds, without losing what makes us honorable soldiers.”

Dha’kar’ta Vendet: “Vendet has 5 soldiers that sided with the Kyr’tsad”… I wont bring the rest of the Kyr’tsad into this, but feel free to join the fight and run these bastards to the ground. As for you, Raven, I’ve never been one to turn down a duel. I’m sure it can be arranged if you’ve got the stones for it.”

Gar addresses Anda Anjiliac

Image

Star News was called to Dantooine to talk to Federal Mediator and Staff Sergeant of GAR Rush. Over the com he told us he wanted to address Anda Anjiliac’s recent article in Star News.

Federal Mediator “Rush”: “The Hutt Cartel doesn’t like the Grand Army. We interupt their business, and when we were on Ord Mantell for a tour of duty on behalf of the Ord Mantell governorship, Anda the Hutt got the brunt of what it truly meant to live with us. However, her possible personal feelings aside I can only imagine how the cartel feels. The Galactic Federation makes up quite a large portion of the Expansion Regions, Mid Rim, and even pieces of the Outer Rim, and when we declare war, we distrupt businesses because then, our hyperspace lanes get militarized, it becomes harder for shipments to go in and out of systems, ect ect.  The Cartel has trade agreements with several Federation worlds, and I am sure a declaration of war makes them all uneasy, but Anda especially since she’s seen what the Grand Army does first hand. Granted, we don’t mean to harm Cartel business but you got to understand… We uphold our own planetary and federal laws. Many of those laws ban Cartel business such as… Drug and Slave trade, weapon smuggling, and more. I mean these are just a variable sum of things, but the Federation doesn’t allow them. So you can understand their possible frustration with us.”

Star News: “… Have you tried to talk to Anda instead of the media?”

Federal Mediator “Rush”: “Anda is out of my reach I am afraid. It’s hard enough to meet with a hutt when I’ve been told specifically NOT to personally meet with a Hutt, but our last conversation was so unfruitful that her and Tompuka threatened to enslave me when I visited them on their private moon… Which, if you must know, I do have a recording of as proof… The thing is, I have no personal quarrel with the Hutts. Anda named me over 10 times in your article by name, and I will not do the same. I will address the entire Cartel, just as I have done since dealing with them. I want to set the record completely strait, in public, and without hesitation…. Yes. There were plans in the Federation, even talks, to preemptively strike at Tatooine, especially Ancorhead due to hostility and Death Watch attacks which were confirmed by Mandalorian clan Muntit’kad and GAR re-con teams.  Yes, we did call the entire Hutt Cartel out because we feared they were harboring Death Watch, and at the time, Imperials known at the ITR: Imperial Trooper Remnant. BUT, the Cartel did not get a full story, nor a full recording. If the information and records you were given by the cartel were true. They would have known that the Cartel was dismissed as a hostile force MONTHS ago, and that the ITR, those Imperials on Anchorhead are now registered no longer hostile, but neutral, and even possible allies….All the proof you need, logs and all, is here.”

Star News:  “how do you address the accusations that Anda is not implying but out and out saying… that GAR is controlling the Galactic Federation in their own personal agenda?”

Federal Mediator “Rush”: “False, untrue, and foolish to think of. The Grand Army holds only one vote, one seat on the Federation Congress and even with me as its Mediator, I have already made it very clear I am only a temporary position until our staff is elected. We have just as of last week elected our President and Vice President and will be holding an inauguration for them to replace me…. Honestly, the thought of a fully military force controlling an entire government is absurd, and to call us Imperialists. The Grand Army is only but one of several seats in congress, held by all the planets and factions within our government, even if we wanted to control everything, there is a complex system of checks and balances in place to ensure past mistakes of one group or person taking control does not occur.”

Star News: “What is GAR’s stance on Anchorhead. Were the families of the victim’s compensated?”

Federal Mediator “Rush”: “There were no victims, there were no struggle. There was only a firefight between GAR troopers and the ITR stromtroopers. We’ve since held a peaceful meeting and settled on neutrality and have been fine ever since… Let me be very clear, and this is to the Cartel, the galaxy, and everyone who says otherwise. The Cartel does not, I repeat, not own Tatooine. This is a farce, and a complete and total lie. I mean no disrespect to the Cartel, but they even know it to be true, they cannot hold the system because it is held or claimed by several other factions. The Fel Empire led by SiareFel claimed Mos Eisley as their own territory with their own Imperial Governor over the city and surrounding area. They merely allow the cartel to meet and have their Cartel nights there. You want proof? Star News was there when the Empress told it to their face to not step over their boundaries or they’d be kicked out. Want to know what else? They say the  ITR didn’t martial law Anchorhead? We met with them, we have logs of that meeting too who say they are, and have. There were AT-STs walking down the streets. Maybe that’s changed in the last two months since our meeting, but that was a fact of the time. As I said, I have the proof right here. So before the Cartel goes snapping our heads off, they should set the records strait on a world they don’t even have full control of. The only thing they own, is Hutt Space, as they always have, which has been respected. The Federation NEVER enters Hutt Space without priror approval by the Cartel. You were there when I personally asked permission to enter with a fleet to follow the Imperial Reich, otherwise, the Cartel has as little power on Tatooine then we, The Federation, would have visiting Coruscant, or visiting Ordo or Mandalore. It’s plain fact, and they’re trying to use the term ‘war’ as a scare tactic to make it seem that the Federation is fighting for an unjust cause, and that the Grand Army is behind it.”

Star News: “..are you speaking for the Grand Army now or for the Galactic Federation?”

Federal Mediator “Rush’: “I speak for liberty, and for the thousands dead already after months of turmoil and terrorism caused by Death Watch and their allies. You’ve seen their damage first hand. They’ve not only attacked the Grand Army, they’ve attacked civilians on Onderon! They’ve kidnapped and slaughtered Jedi on Yavin IV, and have even gloated about it on your own news channel! They’ve threatened the integrity of our Federation, and even now kill and attack our Mandalorian allies in Clans Ordo, Muntid’kad, Tz’rch, and more!… What more could the galaxy want to know? What reasoning could their possibly be to justify our declaration of war. We’re defending our freedom and ability to live peacefully. We’re going to war because a merciless enemy asked for it, and they believe we will not go to the ends of the galaxy to pursue them!” I guarantee you, I guarantee the galaxy that the Federation stands for more than just talk. We are a proud, united nation who in one voice last night shouted out against the tyranny of a force who wants nothing but the blood of our sons and daughters. I won’t allow it, my friends across the Federation here on Dantooine, on Yavin IV, on Fennel, Tython, and Onderon WILL NOT ALLOW IT! We will defend our land, and we will not stop until they understand that the Federation will never live in fear!”

Star News: “is there anything you think we missed or you want to add?”

Federal Mediator “Rush”: “I merely want to set things strait. I merely have two things left to say. Firstly, to the Cartel. I wish nothing upon you or your businesses and freedom to trade, and do as you will. Although the Federation itself will not allow your practices on our own systems, we recognize that every culture is unique and in their own way allowed to do as they wish. This is a free galaxy, and no matter what your business is acknowledged and we will never push our own beliefs upon you, so long as you do not do the same to us… Secondly, to the galaxy at large from the Core Worlds to the Outer rim…. The Galactic Federation is a government like no other. We aren’t like the overpowering society as the Sith Empire… Nor are we the one viewed light side of the New Republic… We are unique, a government born by the moral rights believed by all sentient beings in the pursuit of happiness and just cause. Our constitution is written not only for the betterment of the systems who inhabit this nation, but for every man, woman, and child who call the Federation home, and by the constitution we worked so hard to form. We will ensure that those rights are defended, and that all are fairly treated under them. So help the force.”

Anda Anjiliac Addresses GAR

Image

Star News was called by Senior Hutt Cartel Anda Anjiliac who said she had a message she wanted to be made public.

Anda Anjiliac: “recently your publication published two articles, The first being an interview with Staff Sargeant Rush of the Grand Army of the Republic in which he stated the following:

Star News: “So what about the tensions with the Hutts?’
Staff Sergeant P-8410 “Rush”: “The Grand Army has no beef with the Hutt Cartel, nor does the Federation. Far as we’re concerned, they’re neutral unless proven otherwise. Our only focus are on those who actively operate against us with hostility.”

After quoting the articles she was going to refer to she went on…

Anda Anjiliac: “…and then of course, your report most recently about the federation declaring full scale war upon the “death watch”. While we do not hold star news accountable as you would have had no way of knowing, these statements and actions on behalf of the Grand Army are not only misleading, but outright lies. The Cartel Council, the people of hutt space and the outer rim, are deeply concerned by the motives and truth behind this declaration of war. I will provide you with the proof necessary, but the truth is that immediately prior to the official foundation of the new federation, there were already calls for war from the Grand Army, specifically by the same, Staff Sergeant rush. The Hutt Cartel Council is deeply concerned that this federation is merely an attempt by the Grand Army and their allies to legitimize what would otherwise be considered a heinous and unwarranted attack on civilized systems everywhere. Why else would calls of war be made before the organization was even formed?”

Anda Anjiliac: “I do not know of any death watch on tatooine, and while I believe many members of the federation may be opposed to war, the manipulations and militant goals of the Grand Army have pushed them into conflict. The truth is that the GAR has no intention of recognizing the sovereignty of any system not under their control. They have ordered espionage against uninvolved parties that they have had disagreements with in the past, exhibit bias against my people, and worst of all, they have made unwarranted attacks on the city of anchorhead resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians, all in the name of their warmongering crusade.”

Star News: ” …I am sure you have some proof of these attacks?”

Anda Anjiliac: “further, the Death Watch was never a concern when the Grand Army began to beat war drums to drag the federation into a war effort, the people of the federation and its leaders have been deceived into supporting an unwarranted war on the enemies of a militant and imperialist war machine determined to crush the freedom of the galaxy in pursuit of their ideals. Naturally I have all the proof you need, I will now play you a series of recordings taken from a closed doors federation assembly, obtained at great risk and loss of life to the agents who were involved.”

Anda then produced an audio recorder and played back a message that sounded like it came from a gathering of people from the background noises and muted voices.. the message played spoke of fighting for peace even if it meant having to fight through the Cartel, Sith or other rouge groups.. but it is obviously part of a larger conversation we were not privy too so it seems taken out of context… then Anda went on explaining…

Anda Anjiliac: “…as you can hear, that is staff sergeant rush of the grand army, take note that no mention of any death watch threat was mentioned, further evidence that their true goal is not to defeat any so called death watch but in fact to crush any opposing opinions in the galaxy… secondly is this recording from the same meeting…” Once more she pressed a button or flipped a switch on the recording device and a second message way played….

Again it sounded like a meeting of some kind from the background noise.. only this time the message was perhaps a bit more close to home for the Cartel…

Unidentified Voice: “In accordance with Federation Law, 3/4 of the Congress have decided that investigation continue and declarations be put to a later time. The Hutts and these Imperials will be investigated until the next meeting of this Congress. Until then, all Federation members are to tighten defenses and prepare for anything. Lastly, I will now be announcing publicly the creation of the Federation seeing as the media has already fully confirmed it. I call this session to close.”

Anda Anjiliac: “again, no mention of a “death watch” threat, the GAR’s real motivations are clear, shortly after this recording was made the GAR made a number of incursions onto civilized systems even without an authorization for war… but perhaps the most concerning evidence is what I am about to show you…”

Once more click and an unidentified voice could be heard on Anda’s audio recorder…
Unidentified Voice: “A large, massive Imperial Remnant force, who are believed to be under command of an Imperial Warlord, have declared martial law on the city and have dispatched numerous weapon systems and defense of the city, and STILL allow Death Watch to operate freely. This triad of evil; The Death Watch, Hutt Cartel, and these Imperial Remnant harbor one another and bolster security in the hopes that we, the free people of the Galactic Federation, would not dare attempt to stop them, while Death Watch continues to harm our people, and wage a terrorist campaign that has already claimed lives!”

Anda Anjiliac: “while it is true there is an imperial remnant on Anchorhead, these accusations of martial law are outrageous, and as I have stated in the past, the presence of any death watch agents in Anchorhead is unknown to me… This is being used as an excuse by the Grand Army to wage an unnecessary war to further their agenda. Worse… here Rush is referring to an incident on Anchorhead where GAR troops landed and open fired on a target they had no authorization to attack. I was made aware of a number of civillian deaths as a result of this haphazard attack, and upon asking the coroner there was no further information…. until a thorough search of their computer systems was performed, whereupon we found those records had been hastily removed from the system shortly after the GAR incursion into Anchorhead, I ask that you make your readers aware of this as well. Why they had been removed, I cannot say, but I will leave it to the readers own imaginations as to who might have incentive to do such a thing.”

Anda the provided Star News with a lengthy computer print out that showed the list fatalities of civilians somehow retrieved from the Anchorhead medical facility and although we at Star News are not specialists the documents seemed to be authentic.

Anda Anjiliac: “I will close by requesting…. no, by imploring the wise leaders of the federation to stop and consider what they are doing… they are performing espionage on unrelated parties, supporting unnecessary violence and supporting an imperialist military bent on domination. The Cartel Council has made numerous overtures to be able to speak with the federation yet received no answer, no confirmation. This information was made available to the Kalway order to be passed along to the federation in a desperate attempt to stem the tide of war yet all to no avail. Now with this most recent announcement of full scale war I fear for the galaxy… I beg the federation to reconsider their declaration of war, more innocent people, like on anchorhead, will die in the GARs crusade.

Anda Anjiliac: “I had hoped to speak with the federation directly, but the voices of bigotry, racism and imperialism outweighed the cool collected voices of reason peace and cooperation. And so I am left with no other choice than to present this information publicly, if nothing else it will be important that history knows how these events unfolded, and why.”

The Galactic Federation joins the war

Violence breaks out in Onderon as the war spills over into the streets in front of the Galactic Federation building. The building itself now a bombed out shell burning of out control as a large assembled group of GAR troppers assisted by the V.O. order of Jedi are on hand to deal with a lone sniper taking shots at General Raven in a failed assassination attempt. The lone gun man is quickly spotted out and over come as GAR swarms him on a nearby rooftop using their jet packs and nerves of steel to propel them into a short lived battle.

Meanwhile in the streets in front of the destroyed Galactic Federation building more of the story becomes clear as Star News learns that a second assailant lies dead inside after setting of a bomb. Injuries and fatalities other then the two assailant’s is unknown at this time.

it was Sergeant Spitfire who positively Identified the assailants clearly as members of Death Watch when he removed the helmet and held it up saying: “For the Grand Army and the Federation! For the brothers we lost in the bombing!”

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: ” This helmet belongs to a member of the Death Watch, this a message to all whom want to attack the grand army, will be dealt with with huge punishment”

Sergeant Z-5313 “Spitfire”: “There’s another one in the palace, dead as a door nail just like this one. I responded to the initial attack of one lone Operative setting off explosives in the palace. When I made it back here, we’d all engaged the one on the roof.”

Star News: “What was the motive behind the attack do you think?”

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “To instill fear amongst the onderon people, and hit, but we killed both of them, and we will hold this helmet, as a warning for all future death watch, if they wish to attack the grand army, they best be ready for a bloody war”

Staff Sergeant P-8410 “Rush”: “New Helix Corp arrived, then quickly retreated leaving these lone Death Watch to die.”

Staff Sergeant P-8410 “Rush”: “You send this across the galaxy… Tonight, the Galactic Federation unanimously Declared War on the forces of Death Watch and New Helix Corp. Onderon, Dantooine, Yavin IV, Fenel, and Tython all agreed in a 100% vote for war against these two forces. Alongside allies like Clan Tr’zch, and other Mandalorian forces, we will not  cease until the Death Watch and NHC cease hostilities and unconditionally surrender.”

GAR appoints P.R.

Image

Star News just new it was a matter of time with the war on until GAR appointed a Public Relations officer to maintain an eye on the flow of media and maybe propaganda coming from GAR’s main office and actions in the field. We recently met up with General Raven on Yavin to get to know the new PR officer better and ask a few questions.

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “General Raven of the GAR”

Star News: “…how did you get the job as media liaison?”

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “Well, the title came with the job of being a shock trooper madam, i took over the office of head of public relations, I’m the face of the grand army, as i currently am getting up in age, the maturity needs to be at its highest, my job is very demanding… I oversee all public relations, alliances, etc, I can’t give out some information due the nature of the information being that of classified, I hope you understand, but my job its to make sure our alliances stay in place”

Star News: “…what can you tell me about that role.. is it just media and propaganda or is it also diplomatic somehow?

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “The head of public relations, as i said is the face and limelight of the GAR, we handle diplomatic relations when, things get out of hand, or close to the boiling point and brink of war, we strive to keep the peace as much as possible, however, we will go to war when its the time… Such as the members of the Death Watch, the rogue group of criminals that blew up our headquarters on the planet of Onderon, diplomacy was thrown out of the window”

Star News: “…about Death Watch… with a war going on I am sure you are concerned for the innocent bystanders and want to prevent as much collateral damage as possible.. what can you tell the public about the war and what they should do to be safe as they go about their daily business?”

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “Good question madam, the members of the death watch aim, to just cause havoc wherever they step, and its going to come bite them in the end, as for the citizens we ask, do not be afraid, go about your daily business without fear, for fear is what they are trying to instill… We would ask, if you see members of the GAR in the streets, for there own safety, do not try to apprehend members of the Death Watch, contact a local member of security, or our troopers even. GAR members are willing to take any information on the death watch, for those who wish to come forward”

Star News: “Any closing comments?”

GAR General X-8846 “Raven”: “GAR at this time, wishes to let the public know, that we are willing to help out those in need and to come to those who need aid”
